Droste’s Category Manager provides accurate merchandising and profitability analysis reports for all items on your sales floor — from the individual item level up through the sub-commodity and commodity levels. Category Manager’s level of detail and simple drill-down screens identify pricing, history, and movement trends and problems, helping you to accurately and efficiently analyze item performance.
Typically, stores manage commodities using retail accounting methods. Summary figures and invoices from each department are extrapolated to determine average gross profit figures per sub-department. Category Manager begins tracking actual sales and costs at the individual item level and then works up to the summary level for each department. Because gross-profit figures are derived at the item level rather than department level, this method of tracking commodities provides you with actual gross-profit figures for every item in your store.
Category Manager combines information from all areas of your operations —POS, vendor costs, billbacks and general sales — to help you make profitable decisions. Our easy-to-manage screens allow you to browse data at individual commodity and sub-commodity levels:
The level of detail found in this reporting tool helps merchandisers to effectively determine which items to advertise more often and which items to consider adding or removing from store shelves. It also helps merchandisers identify price sensitive items that need a price reduction for increased movement as well as those that are not price sensitive at all. Merchandisers can also uncover pricing trends and pinpoint item performance by store and in total.
